The Fernbrook Farms Education Center is the New Jersey liaison of the National Farm to School Network. The network consists of over 1,000 schools and organizations working together to bring food directly from the farms to schools in order to boost nutrition and health awareness.

Farm to School: Linking Communities, Farms, and Schools
Health and nutrition education through integrating themes of agriculture and ecology is fun and innovative for teachers, students and parents. Our Farm to School program is multifaceted, addressing not only physical health and nutrition, but conservation and community health and wellness. Programs include:
- Teacher Training workshops including Curriculum Development
- Consulting with your food service provider to enhance school menus and boost offerings of local produce
- In-Class instructional support with lessons including garden and nutrition, as well as ecology and local community studies.

Pre-trip and Post-trip School Visits
We recommend a visit from a Fernbrook Instructor before your farm trip in order to introduce material being covered. Follow up visits also help to solidify the learning experience.
Health and Nutrition Seminars for Students
Fun and innovative nutrition seminars help your students to personalize the concepts of health and nutrition. Our instructors bring kitchens to your classroom to help students learn to make solid food choices when preparing snacks or meals. Please contact us for more information.
